DayONE Access Changes – Effective Summer 2026
The DayONE Access link in Canvas will now be accessed through the DayONE Materials link in the left‑hand course menu. DayONE courses using McGraw Hill materials- students only use this link to opt out.
What’s New
- Students will use the DayONE Materials link to access eBooks, courseware, and opt‑out options.
- McGraw Hill materials in a DayONE course will continue to use the McGraw Hill (Connect and SimNET) links to access materials. Students will only use the DayONE link for opting out.
- Students will see all their DayONE materials for all courses at the same time.
- The DayONE Materials link is always available on the left navigation menu.
- The DayONE Access module/link is no longer needed.
- If you do not see the DayONE Materials link, it may be hidden—contact eLearning or your course administrator to unhide it.
Faculty Instructions (McGraw)
Some courses (Hybrid and Online) may already be set up using a model. If not, Traditional and Blended sections may request the model or complete the steps below.
To‑Do Checklist
- Remove old links
- If your course was copied from a previous term, delete the DayONE Access module and link.
- Note: Leaving old links will not cause errors, but they are no longer needed.
- Access course materials
- If you use assignment links, continue to link assignments in your usual way.
- If you inserted a general McGraw link for students to register with and this was on the previous DayONE module you can place this in a new or different module going forward.
- Share student instructions
- Add the condensed student instructions below to your syllabus or a “Getting Started” module.

Condensed Student Instructions: How to Access DayONE Materials
- Log in to Canvas and open your course.
- Click on any McGraw (Connect or SimNET) assignment or link.
- Ensure pop‑ups are allowed.
- Log into your existing McGraw Hill account or create a new one. (use your gtcc.edu email when creating a new account)
Important: Always access materials through Canvas to maintain automatic access and grade sync.

Opt‑Out Information
Opting out is not recommended, as these materials are required for the course and provided at a reduced cost.
How to Opt Out
- Click DayONE Materials on the left menu.
- Select Load DayONE in a new window.
- Click “Want to opt out?”
- Choose a reason and confirm.
Important Notes
- If you opt out, you must purchase materials on your own.
- A refund will be issued to your student account (typically 4–6 weeks).
- Access ends after the opt‑out deadline.
- You may opt in before the deadline only.
