How to Access Cengage Courseware for a DayONE Course in Canvas

How to locate your Cengage Courseware in Canvas for a DayONE Access course:

Follow these step-by-step instructions:

(Scroll down for info about Opting Out)

Log into Canvas and access your Canvas course.

Make sure that POP up blocker setting is set to allow pop ups.

From left navigation bar click on the DayONE Materials:

Click on: Load DayONE in a new window

You may see more than one course’s DayONE materials, select the correct course materials from your library:

Click Launch Courseware.

 You may also access Cengage Courseware (MindTap, CengageNOWv2, OWLv2, SAM, WebAssign) by clicking any link to Cengage content. (Cengage reading assignments, MindTap and other courseware activities will usually be located under Modules.

Some Cengage materials have Read Now button, and some do not, if there is not a Read Now button then the eBook will be found in the courseware once you click the Launch Courseware button

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Link Your Cengage and Canvas Accounts.

If you already have a Cengage account, log in now. New to Cengage? Click “Create Student Account” and register.  We recommend using your gtcc.edu email.

To verify your account, open the ‘Welcome to Cengage’ email you just received and click ‘Activate Cengage Account’ to set your password and complete the registration process. Be sure to use the same device and browser to create and verify your account.

*You might already have a Cengage account if you’ve used MindTap, CengageNOWv2, OWLv2, SAM, WebAssign or another Cengage platform in a different course.
 
Linking your accounts is a one-time process. If you’ve previously completed this step for another course, you won’t be prompted to do it again. 

 

 

Enroll in Your Course     

Welcome to Cengage screen, these are your course materials, blue button at the bottom of the screen to Continue

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

You’ve found your course materials! Your Cengage course materials have already been purchased, and you now have full access to them! Click “Continue” to access your course.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Begin reading and working! You now have access to ALL your required course materials. Remember: always access your Cengage content from your Canvas course to continue enjoying codeless access and grade syncing.

OPTING OUT

Please be advised it is NOT recommended that you Opt-Out, as these materials are required by your professor to complete the course and the fee charged is at a discounted price, but to do so:

From left navigation bar click on the DayONE Materials:

You may see more than one course’s DayONE materials, select the correct course materials from your library:

click the ‘Want to opt-out?’ button.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Select your reason why and click: Opt Out.

If you Opt Out: 

  • You will be responsible for purchasing these materials on your own. 

  • A refund of your book/courseware fee will be put back on your student account for you to receive your refund in 4-6 weeks. 

  • You will immediately lose access to your courseware if you opt out. You can opt back in up until the opt out deadline date. 

  • If it is before the opt out deadline and you want to opt back into the materials simply go to the DayONE Materials link, then select opt in. You will access the course links from any Cengage content the same as before you opted out. 

If you have OPTed OUT and you do not want to opt back in or it is after the opt out deadline; when you click on your instructor’s links for any Cengage content, you will see that payment is required:

or you can use your own access code.

Or purchase the materials:

Once you do either of these you will be able to access the course links from any Cengage content the same as before you opted out.
